Functional Additives

Plant-Based Helpers for Friction Materials

For many people 𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 mean longer periods in the 𝗰𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻, this will also be the case in this year. In fact, it is likely that travelling will increase significantly again. In Germany perhaps with the 9,-- € ticket?

While the driver is presumably the most important factor for a safe road-trip, a reliable equipment is nonetheless essential. In the last blog post, my colleague Simon Ritter gave you an introduction about cellulose fibers in rubber application and how they are used to enhance v-belts. In previous articles of this post, you can also find different articles about wood-plastic-composite, which is also used in different vehicles.

However, one topic we did not talk about, which is even more important for road and rail. This is powerful breaking itself. To make it short, to have a 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽, 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 braking systems and 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝗱𝘀 are essential.

We are proud that our 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 assist in the manufacturing process and improve brake pads during their usage. JRS grades 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝘅𝗲𝘀, 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲-𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵, offer 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 with low dust grades and improve 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀.

Alternative for Asbestos

Furthermore, in various countries, where asbestos fibers are still the standard, cellulose fiber can further enhance safety by 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘀 and thereby reducing the generation of hazardous fine dust during production and in the environment. From the JRS-Portfolio, recycled cellulose fibers are the go-to renewable and sustainable solution for breaking bads.
