The JRS staff had to postpone their beloved Employee Family Festival several times due to the pandemic. On Sunday, it finally happened again. At the JRS factory premises, the JRS Family Beach Party could finally commence in its traditional fashion. The Rettenmaier family seemed visibly delighted to personally welcome the employees with their families and partners, friends, neighbors, and representatives from local politics to the party.
The outdoor area around the newly expanded high-bay logistics building was transformed into a festival ground with plenty of open-air seating. Where pallets of finished goods are usually stored in the neighboring hall, many diligent hands redecorated the space and set up a large festival bar for the lunch menu and coffee and cake bar. The team from the company canteen pampered the guests with pulled beef and pork burgers, gyros, vegetable rice dishes, pasta dishes, white and grilled sausages, as well as a salad buffet. Several beverage stations and a cocktail beach bar, along with a large sandy area complete with a pool and beach chairs, created a festive beach party atmosphere that was further energized by the DJ team. Hardworking setup and service teams from local clubs ensured a perfect festival flow and a great atmosphere. The opening of the festivities was accompanied by lively brass music from the Rosenberg Music Association – a sporting challenge for the musicians, as they had to head to the festival parade in Neuler right afterward.
In his brief welcome speech, Josef Otto Rettenmaier addressed the challenges of the past time during the pandemic and the current political world situation. Therefore, his special thanks went to the employees of the JRS operational family for their commitment and flexibility, which have been crucial pillars of the company's success even in difficult times. "Especially during these times, we see that with JRS Plant Fiber Technology, we are on the right path towards a more sustainable future. Together with our independence as a family-owned company group, this gives us the confidence to continue on our special path successfully and reliably, a path that the Rettenmaier family fully supports with complete dedication – in line with our promise 'With every fiber for a better future'."
With a minute of silence, the late Senior-Holzmüller Josef Rettenmaier sen., who passed away in spring, was remembered. Josef Otto Rettenmaier sees his father's visionary spirit of innovation as the starting point and driving force behind the successful international corporate development that continues to significantly shape the JRS philosophy today and provides guidance even in difficult times.
Following the memorial, the festival attendees were able to marvel at the newly commissioned extension of the central high-bay storage system during guided tours.
To make the JRS Plant Fiber Technology understandable for a younger audience, the JRS apprentices set up a Junior Researcher Station in the form of a laboratory tent. There, under professional guidance, important basic functions of JRS plant fiber products could be tested in experiments. Water binding, thickening, or gelling effects – everything could be experienced and learned in a truly "graspable" way.
The grand JRS Family Festival included various attractions such as a bouncing castle for the little ones, a guided pony riding station, a children's carousel, a bubble station, and for the older children and adults, a mechanical Western bull riding system that provided much fun and sporting ambition.
The installed photo booth with various quirky decorations and costume props brought intergenerational family fun and was always surrounded by eager participants.
